Talking With Your Kids About Race
Issues of race, racism and discrimination are in the media almost daily, and our kids are very aware of these pressing topics. Do you wonder how to talk with your kids about these important issues in a way that increases their curiosity and opens up a conversation? The Piedmont Education Speaker Series, in collaboration with the Piedmont Appreciating Diversity Committee, welcomes Dr. Allison Briscoe-Smith, a child psychologist and professor at the Wright Institute, whose research has focused on how children understand race, and how racial socialization plays out at home and in the classroom.
