We are Piedmont
“We are Piedmont" is a collaboration between PADC, Piedmont and Millennium High School art students and the City of Piedmont. The aim of this project is to illustrate Piedmont's diversity and foster an appreciation of differences in our community through visual representation and text based on interviews with those who live, work and learn in our community. This project is led by a team of Advanced Placement (AP) Art students and advised by Piedmont High School Art teacher, Gillian Bailey. The completed exhibit portrays individuals in black and white photographs and is on display in City Hall.
PADC supported this projected as part of the 2015-16 grants program, and worked with the city and students to promote community awareness of this project. We have extended this project for the second year in the 2016-2017 grant program and have updated the portraits in City Hall. This project is now in its 3rd year in 2017-18.
