2015 Grants Update (November 15 Deadline)

10/5/2015

Each year, the PADC awards grants to teachers and staff of the Piedmont Unified School District for projects that advance the mission of the PADC. This year we are expanding the applicant pool to include student organizations. Grant funding generally ranges from $200 to $2,500 for specific projects and educational programs. Occasionally, grants larger than $2,500 are granted for projects that have a significant impact on the school community. However, in general, PADC will not offer partial funding.

In 2014-15, PADC awarded $6,600 in grants from money that was generated through fundraising and generous donations from community supporters. Past PADC grants have included:
  • Readmont, Piedmont’s annual “One City, One Book” project
  • Havens Elementary School Community Crew Project
  • Tri-elementary school libraries – funding for diversity related curriculum
  • Piedmont Middle School – Diversity Day and Unity Week
  • Piedmont High School and Millennium High School – yearlong Service Learning Initiative
  • Piedmont High School/Millennium High School – Camp Everytown, a leadership initiative focusing on promoting positive school climate
We encourage innovative approaches that engage students in interactive projects, and we welcome projects with the potential for long-term impact on large segments of students and our community. Click here to download a copy of the 2015-2016 grants information flyer. Click here to download the grants criteria flyer.

Fall 2015 Happy Hour Snaps

Many turned out on Friday October 2, 2015 at Downtown Wine Merchants in Oakland to meet PADC members and hear more about the work we do in the community and schools.  It was a great evening at this fun uptown spot to socialize with friends and neighbors.  We hope you plan on joining us next year, or for our next event!
